Student art winners

Winners have been announced in the recent Gloucester County Art Student Show, sponsored by the Phoenix Art Group and held at the Gloucester Library. There were more than 80 pieces of art in the show, and over 120 votes were cast for the People’s Choice Award. The winner was 14-year-old Kyla Harrell of Peasley Middle School, shown in center above with family members Allen Alexander, left, and Shari Alexander. She received a ribbon, a certificate, and a $25 check from Phoenix for her piece “Beauty and the Beat,” shown below. Local artist Renate Bumgarner (not pictured) selected 6-year-old Sienna Colby, in front at right, of the Gloucester Montessori School as recipient of the Most Promising Young Artist Award. Colby received a ribbon and a certificate. She is shown with mom Michelle Colby and sister Eliana Colby. Their art and other pieces will be featured in next year’s Gloucester County Art Student Scholarship Calendar.
