Stroud Architects and Associates PLLC relocates to Morgan Building

The Morgan Building on Gloucester’s Main Street is now home to Stroud Architects and Associates PLLC. Husband and wife owners David and Ivy Stroud of Mathews opened their office in May after working out of their home for the last year.

Ivy Stroud decided to go out on her own after 20 years of architectural experience. She gained her education at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. Following college, she spent 20 years working for different private firms in the southeast.

After returning to the area, Stroud’s most recent work was with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, serving as the Staff Architect. Her husband, David, is the Director of Heritage Assets & Historic Preservation Officer for the Fort Monroe Authority. Stroud said after a year or so working in Williamsburg decided to venture out on her own as her solo work began to grow.

“It was my ultimate goal,” she said.
