Stronger

“The things that were sent to destroy us, only made us stronger.”

The Juneteenth Celebration was celebrated on June 19, 2022. The venue was different, the lineup was different, but the celebration went on with modifications. We are a resilient people and threats of violence are not new to people of color.

We live it every day.

The Juneteenth Celebration is a celebration of freedom. We stand on the shoulders of our ancestors who paved the way for us and we must carry on this great legacy. While we celebrate, let us not forget the deep spiritual and religious significance of this holiday. It is not a Black Holiday. It is an American Holiday. This is why it is so vital that accurate inclusive histories be taught in school. Who is Irene Morgan? Who is Opal Lee? What happened in 1863 and 1865?Thank you to all of our sponsors.
