Stormwater issue to come before board Tuesday

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will receive an update on current program development progress and pending legislation of the county’s stormwater management plan during its meeting Tuesday night, which will begin at 7 o’clock in the colonial courthouse.

Gloucester County must decide whether it wishes to manage the new requirements locally or have the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality administer the program. If locally managing the requirements, the county must submit a final stormwater management program to the DEQ no later than May 15.

Action taken by the board of supervisors Tuesday night will shape the program advertised for a public hearing at the May 6 meeting of the board, according to the county’s environmental administrator Scott Rae.
