Steven C. Moffitt Sr., 69, of Gloucester, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026. Born on June 23, 1957 in Hampton, he grew up in Gloucester Point, where he built a life rooted in family, hard work, and community.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Howard L. Moffitt Jr. and Minnie Theodosia “Chic” Moffitt; his sister, Constance Jenkins, and his grandson, Camden Martin.

From his early years working alongside family at Moffitt Construction to branching out on his own, Steve lived a life defined by dedication and heart. Over the years, he worked in many roles—truck driver, bus driver, tour director, custodian, and business owner—and he poured himself fully into each one.

He drove for Newton’s Bus Service, where he became known as a lively, unforgettable tour director. He and his family created Moffitt Tours, bringing joy and laughter to countless travelers. In the evenings, he worked as a custodian at Page Middle School, where students and staff adored his kindness and warm spirit.

Later, Steve built his own business, At Your Disposal Inc., which he worked tirelessly for and truly loved. No matter the job, Steve had a rare gift—he always found the good in people. His heart was big, his humor contagious, and his presence comforting.

Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Susan Moffitt; his children, Steven Moffitt and Whitney Adkins (Keith), and his grandchildren, Blake Aaron Adkins, Annabel Christine Moffitt, Emersyn Brooke Webb, and bonus grandson, Isaac James Webb. He is also survived by his sister, Cindy (Mike); his brother, Howard (Rachel); many nieces and nephews, and his bonus son, David Dentler.

He leaves behind a circle of special friends—Pipi, Mark, Timmy, Lee, Calvin, and many more—each touched by his loyalty and warmth. And always by his side was his beloved dog, Baylor Girl, who brought him joy, companionship, and endless love.

To know Steve was to love him. His legacy is one of kindness, laughter, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family received friends at Bellamy United Methodist Church on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 10-11 a.m., with funeral services starting at 11. Burial was in Bellamy Memorial Cemetery.
