Stephen Raye Forrest, 53, of Gwynn, Va., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at his home.

He was born on Jan. 16, 1962 to Barbara Fincham and Raymond Forrest.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Melvin and Althea White of Mobjack, and Carroll Lee and Della Forrest of Gwynn, and numerous uncles. 

He is survived by his son, Jeremy Forrest (Nicole Germain) (granddaughter in May) of Gwynn, his mom and pops, Barbara and Gordon Fincham of Gwynn; his dad and step-mother, Raymond (Rainbow) and Darlene Forrest of Reedville; his brother, Tim (T-bone) Forrest of Gwynn; his sister, Lynne Martin (Rodney) of Woodford; nephew, Josh Vencill (Kayla) of King William; niece, Laura Vencill of Lynchburg; great-niece, Layla Vencill; aunt, Sandra Williams (Roy) of Blakes and Sandra Forrest of Gwynn, and numerous cousins. Steve is also survived by his best friend and companion, SkyDog.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home in Mathews, with a graveside service at 3 o’clock at Gwynn’s Island Cemetery.

Steve will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but will always be in our hearts.
