On Saturday, March 14, Dr. Lesley O’Brien, neuroscientist and author, will examine the neurological and behavioral traits that make cats surprisingly adept at life afloat, with insights from her Captain Marco book series.
In April (Saturday, April 11), Larry Chowning, general assignment reporter/photographer of the Southside Sentinel, will speak on how steamboats transformed local commerce, travel, and daily life across the Northern Neck.
This year’s series concludes in May; maritime historian Marty Bollinger will give a talk on the Claiborne-Annapolis Ferry Company and the era before the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
The museum is located at 156 King Carter Drive. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for each 2 o’clock program.
