State sales tax holiday this weekend

Virginia’s sales tax holiday will be held this weekend, starting at 12:01 a.m. on Friday and ending at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, according to the state Department of Taxation.

This weekend, people can buy qualifying school supplies, clothing, footwear, hurricane and emergency preparedness items, and Energy Star and WaterSense products without having to pay the state sales tax.
