Gloucester High School junior Kenneth Hamilton earned first place in the Virginia High School League’s Class 4 State Championships in the 215 lbs. weight class Saturday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. Hamilton went 4-0 at the tournament to capture the state title. GHS teammate Karl Dean (165 lbs.) went 3-2 in the tournament to place fourth among Class 4A schools. Mathews wrestlers, meanwhile, placed fourth as a team in the state among Class 1 schools at their state tournament at the Salem Civic Center.
