Stanley Louis “Lou” Caviness Jr., 78, of Hayes, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019.

He was a member of Union Baptist Church, owner/operator of Gloucester Electric Motor Service, and a volunteer with the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda, and his parents, Stanley and Agnes.

Survivors include his two daughters, Christine Philpott of Gloucester and Pamela Wright of Dinwiddie; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Maury Cemetery in Richmond on Tuesday.

A memorial is planned at Union Baptist Church in the fall.
