With temperatures hovering around the 80-degree mark, Tuesday was a perfect day to get outside and get on the field, as spring sports returned to area schools. Below, Mathews High School freshman Meredith Salvadori (#2, at right) faces off against a Grafton player in a girls’ soccer scrimmage. Although the Lady Devils fell to the Clippers, 7-2, the MHS girls played well against the bigger Class 4 opponents, with Salvadori scoring both Mathews goals.
