Spring gobbler season starts Saturday

Spring turkey season starts on Saturday across Virginia and continues through May 15. Hunting hours are one-half hour before sunrise until noon each day through May 2, and from May 3-15, one-half hour before sunrise until sunset each day.

The bag limit is one bearded turkey per day, with a top limit of three calculated depending on how many turkeys were taken in the fall season.

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources notes that a number of regulations are in place for specific firearms and methods, and that hunters should check with the state for particulars.
