Sports conditioning to begin next week at GHS

Gloucester High School Athletic Director Kristy Hunter announced Tuesday that she had received permission for the school to begin sports conditioning activities next week.

Hunter said she was notifying coaches that they could begin conditioning practices as of Monday and reminded them they needed to stay within established COVID-19 safety guidelines. She said teams will be brought back in phases.

Current sports physicals are required for student athletes to participate in conditioning. GHS will hold sports physicals at the school from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 1, and next Thursday, Oct. 8. The cost is $20 and students must sign up in advance and fill out all proper paperwork before arriving.

The required paperwork can be downloaded from the GHS website by clicking on sports physicals under Sports Announcements on the home page.
