Sport Clips opens Gloucester store

Sport Clips, a haircut shop targeted at men and boys, opened a store in Gloucester’s Fox Mill Centre on April 4.

Tony and Kerry Sawyer of Richmond are the franchise owners of the Gloucester store, as well as a total of 30 other shops in Virginia (15), Ohio (nine), Indiana (five) and Maryland (two). The Sawyers are also the franchise owners of a store under construction in Winchester, and another being readied in Ohio.

Besides haircuts, Sport Clips offers a relaxing experience for its clients, Tony Sawyer said. Customers can watch sports on television sets in the shop while they get a haircut. You can pay for just a haircut or add services like a shampoo, back massage, scalp massage and a hot towel.

The modern shop, which is open seven days a week, is built like a locker room with lockers, eight work stations, and space at the rear for shampoos.
