Special Pandora charm honors fallen state trooper

The Silver Box in Gloucester is helping to honor fallen Virginia State Police officer Chad Dermyer on the second anniversary of his death by offering a special Pandora charm with his badge number “756” imprinted on it.

The charm should be available exclusively to Silver Box customers by March 31, the date that Dermyer was shot and killed while on duty in Richmond in 2016.

According to Dawn McDade with The Silver Box, Dermyer’s widow, Michelle, has been a longtime customer with the store and mentioned several years ago that she wished Pandora would offer a “thin blue line” charm for its bracelets that honor law enforcement officers.

“That kind of sparked something in my head,” McDade said, “and I told myself, ‘Maybe we can do that and make it a Chad charm.’” McDade then reached out to Pandora’s territory leader to make it happen.
