The Fine Arts Museum of Gloucester will launch its new “Speaking of …” speaker series at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, with “Speaking of … The Yorktown Campaign,” featuring Major General (ret.) Vincent de Kytspotter, Ph.D., of Paris, France. It is free and open to the public. The new series invites visitors to look beyond the objects, artwork and stories on view at the museum through conversations with historians, artists, scholars and special guests, said a press release. Programs will explore topics connected to Gloucester’s history, art and community. For the inaugural program, de Kytspotter will trace French military involvement in the American Revolution from 1777 to 1783, from military advisers serving alongside the Continental Army to French naval operations.
