The Sovereign Nations of Virginia Conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Virginia Crossings Hotel, Glen Allen. Nations involved include the Chickahominy, Eastern Chickahominy, Monacan, Nansemond, Pamunkey, Rappahannock and Upper Mattaponi. A release said tribal leaders, educators, advocates and partners from across Virginia will lead conversations on increasing the understanding of tribal sovereignty.
