D&J’s Back 2 Back Soul Food Restaurant, located on Route 14 at North, will hold its grand opening celebration from noon until midnight Saturday.
Dianne Tillage owns the restaurant with her daughter, Connie Tillage. Both women reside in Gloucester.
Tillage said D&J’s will change its menu weekly, rotating a variety of soul food offerings such as pork BBQ, barbecued pigs’ feet, liver and onions, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, potato salad, chitterlings, homemade cakes and pies. Other dishes will also be on the menu, ranging from crab cakes to beef stir-fry.
For the grand opening, free hamburgers and hot dogs will be served throughout the afternoon, Tillage said, and a large selection of soul food will be sold that day and evening.
In addition, the celebration will feature a bike, car and truck show, which Tillage said will award prizes in many categories such as vehicle that traveled the farthest to get to the show; registration deadline is 4 p.m....
