Gloucester High School fall sports athletes are preparing for the upcoming season with some tryouts getting underway next week. Players must have an up-to-date physical and meet eligibility requirements for conditioning and tryouts.

Football team candidates have been conditioning from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays at the GHS field house, with tryouts scheduled for next Thursday, Aug. 1. 

The varsity Dukes have scrimmages scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 15 at Green Run High School and Aug. 22 at 6 p.m. with Warhill at GHS. The varsity players open the season at home against Woodside on Aug. 10.

Field hockey players have been getting in shape with conditioning sessions from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays and from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at the field house. Tryouts begin Aug. 5. Varsity field hockey players will open their season with a host of Woodside on Aug. 27.
