‘Solarbration’

Abingdon Elementary School is now part of Dominion Energy’s and the National Energy Education Development’s (NEED) Solar for Students program, which installs a solar panel at each participating school with a visual display that shows students in real time how much electricity is being generated. Nature Club sponsor and first grade teacher Kathy Autrey applied for the solar panel to be placed in front of the school. Dr. Walter Clemons, district superintendent, cut the ribbon during Tuesday’s unveiling of the solar panel.
