Two snowfalls in late January 2014 left a thick blanket of snow everywhere. Among those taking advantage of their temporary playground, above, were Noah, Andy and Tyler Brown of Gloucester enjoying their snow day and a rare chance for sledding in their backyard. Below, it was not a play day for James Hurst of Mathews, fighting the storm to keep the Food Lion parking lot in Mathews clear.
