Smoke detector drive

Realtors have been in many homes in their careers, and they notice that many of the homes lack one simple thing that can save homeowners’ lives—smoke detectors. So, the Community Outreach Committee of the Chesapeake Bay & Rivers Association of Realtors is doing something about it. Throughout July, the group is holding a smoke detector drive, collecting new smoke detectors and donating them to volunteer fire departments in Gloucester, Mathews and Middlesex counties, who will then distribute the donated smoke detectors throughout the community. Donations will be accepted at the CBRAR office at 6814 Teagle Lane in Gloucester, or call 804-776-0586 to arrange a pickup. To drive the point home, CBRAR Community Outreach Committee members and Abbitt Realty Co. realtors Stephen Flippin, and Kandy Fisk got a little silly and dressed up as Henry the Hydrant and Fanny the Flame....
