Signup is underway for the annual Wharf to Wharf Swim which takes place on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m. at Williams Wharf Landing in Mathews.

Participants in this benefit for the Mathews Land Conservancy start and end at Williams Wharf, crossing the East River to Hicks Wharf and back in an open water swim of about one mile. Each swimmer must raise at least $100 in sponsorship funds, a release said.

Donations support Mathews Land Conservancy project and facilities, the release said. All ages and abilities of swimmers, along with spectators, are invited. Refreshments and music are planned.
