Abbie Hudgins was the starting pitcher Tuesday as the Lady Devils hosted Tidewater District rival West Point. Mathews shut out the Pointers, 14-0. Head coach J.J. Ashberry used all five of his pitchers—one per inning—in the victory. Hudgins was one of three players honored at the start of the game for Senior Night. Fellow seniors Brittany Ottarson and Kelsey Ryan were also recognized. The Mathews girls travel to Middlesex today for a 5 p.m. game and will host Surry on Tuesday, also at 5.
