Shoreline protection

Volunteers with the Abingdon Ruritan Club’s Environmental Committee, chaired by Alan Scales, planted marsh grass at Werowocomoco on June 18. Seventeen members and guests of the club placed 1,800 plants covering over 7,500 square feet along 170 linear feet of shoreline. The project was designed as a living shoreline.
