Shoreline improvement project wins approval

The Gloucester County Wetlands Board approved one shoreline improvement project during a meeting June 14 in the colonial courthouse.

Warren Horn was granted permission to install a 40-foot groin and add three T-heads to three existing groins adjacent to property situated along the York River at 8274 Blue Crab Lane, said Linda Walthall, administrator coordinator for Gloucester Environmental Programs.

The commission approved the application with the stipulation that a revised drawing be submitted depicting where the T-heads are located on groins.

Following its meeting, the wetlands board sat as the Gloucester County Chesapeake Bay Preservation & Erosion Commission. The commission approved the three requests for buffer modification that were presented.
