Shirley Sue Crotty, 80, of Gloucester, entered into Heaven’s gates on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016.
She was born May 10, 1935 in West Virginia to Harry and Virgie Wallace, who preceded her in death. Shirley was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family, her church, her community and served them all faithfully during her lifetime. For all of us you gave your best, now the time has come for you to rest, so go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep, your love in our hearts, we will eternally keep.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Crotty.
She is survived by children, Vicky S. Baker and husband Larry, Frank Crotty and wife Amy, and Robyn Dooley; grandchildren, Brian Baker and wife Denise, Scott Baker and wife Emily, Clay Crotty and wife Ashley, Andrew Crotty and wife Tanya, Kaitlyn Crotty, Garrett O’Sullivan and wife Holly, and Madisyn Dooley; host of great-grandchildren; nieces, extended family and BFF Theresa and husband Robin Hogge.
Funeral service conducted by the Rev. William Corey will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at the funeral home.
