Shirley R. Shiflette, 78, of Wicomico, went to her Heavenly home on April 15, 2012.

Shirley was born Oct. 1, 1933 to the late Vernice and Melba Croswell. Shirley was a member of Providence Baptist Church, and cooked at the Coast Guard Base, Yorktown, for a number of years. She loved her family and devoted much of her time to them and she will be greatly missed by all.

Her husband, Larkin Shiflette; daughter, Brenda Pittman, and grandson, David Fain Jr., also preceded her in death.

She is survived by daughters, Linda McIntosh, Anita Fain and husband David, Rita Lett; son, Scott Shiflette; sister, Mable Calmes; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. W. Donald Ambrose will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver, Candy Scott, for the loving care and support given to Shirley.
