Shirley J. Coates, 84, of Achilles, Va., passed away Aug. 6, 2021 with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Alera Coates; sisters, Louise Hall, Jerline Grant, Myrtle Keaton, Ruth Bonniville, and Mary Jo Bonniville.

Shirley is survived by her son, Ronnie Coates (Elaine); sisters, Linda Hall (Marvin), Suzanne Haywood; brothers, Roy Coates (Shirley), Kenneth Coates (Diane), and Oscar Coates Jr.; nephew, Steve Hall (Anna); niece, Nancy Jenkins (Ben), other nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Marlie Sigala (Steven), Carlie Husky, Billy Northrop, Casey Coates (Jen), Randy Coates, and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Gloucester Point Cemetery. Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
