Shirley A. Davis of Mathews, died peacefully on June 21, 2020 at the age of 84.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Sr. and Helen Jarvis; her husband, William Davis Sr.; a son, George R. Davis; three brothers, Leslie Jr., Edward, and Bernard Jarvis, and two grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, William Davis Jr. (Mary) and Tracy Davis Sr. (Ashley); her daughters, Nina Powell, Shirley Matthews (Michael), Gloria Myles (Robert), Alison Davis (Robert), Dorothy Willis (Herbert Jr.), Ellen Johnson (Michael Sr.); two brothers, Franklin Jarvis (Mary) and Robert Jarvis (Patricia); sister, Clara Pinkard (Kent); 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will take place Thursday, June 25, from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 26, at Wayland Baptist Church, Mathews. Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, masks will be required for visitation and service.
