Sheppard to head community engagement office

Quinton Sheppard has been named Gloucester’s new Community Engagement and Public Information Manager. Sheppard replaces Gloria Williams, who has accepted a position at Chesapeake Bank

This is a step up for Sheppard, who has served for the past three years as the county’s Public Information and Marketing Coordinator. Prior to that, he was a reporter for 16 years with the Gazette-Journal.

Sheppard said that as public information and marketing coordinator, he dealt with one side of the two-pronged job he now has—ensuring county residents are up-to-date on community activities, governmental meetings, and other goings-on in the county. He said he’s been promoting citizen engagement through a platform that allows residents to let the county know what their priorities are, and he’ll continue with those efforts.
