Sharon “Woodzy” Wood, 66, of Gloucester, Va., died on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Sharon was born in Munich, Germany, in 1958 to Benny and Jean Wood. The family lived in Hampton before moving to Gloucester in 1964. She graduated from Gloucester High School, where she played volleyball, and set off to explore the country. Upon settling back in Gloucester, she volunteered for Gloucester Social Services and was a Restaurant Manager while taking classes for Accounting with Computer Applications at Kee Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper until graduating from Riverside School of Health Services/Radiology. After 22 years of Radiology Technology, she retired from Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, sketching, and reading, especially books from her favorite author, Stephen King. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her aunts and uncles, and her parents, Benny Wood and Jean Wood. She is survived by her brothers, Steve (Sally) Wood, Charles (Jeanette) Wood, and her sisters, Laurie (Edmon) Abraham, Nora Wood, and Jennifer Wood, and nieces and nephews. Services are private.
