SHARON B. SUTTON

Sharon B. “Girney” Sutton, age 72, of Port Haywood, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018.  

Sharon loved to crochet, play piano, cook, and travel, but most of all she loved God, her family, and her friends. She graduated from Mathews High School and worked as a legal secretary in the Gloucester County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office until her retirement in 2011.  She was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church, the Gideons Auxiliary, and the Stephen Ministry.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Sunie Brown, and a brother, Kevin Brown.

Survivors include her husband, Charles W. “Chuck” Sutton; children, David Sutton (Chandra), Kelley Brinkerhoff (Gary), Aaron Sutton, and Jaye Martin (Randy); sisters, Baby Kathryn Diggs and Kitty Crockett; brother, Everett Darden Brown; seven grandchildren, and four great- grandchildren.

The family received friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28 at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, 160 Main Street, Mathews, Va. 23109.  A Celebration of Life Service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29 at Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 2243 Buckley Hall Road, Cobbs Creek, Va. 23035. Burial followed in Gwynn’s Island Cemetery.
