Shall not be infringed

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Contrary to the opinion expressed by Ms. Keitz (“A well regulated Militia,” June 9 Readers Write), let it be known that the well regulated militia spelled out so clearly in the Second Amendment is none other than, We the People.I beg to differ with the conclusion drawn by Ms. Keitz. A militia is not a part of the organized armed forces, i.e., (Army, Navy, Air Force) of a nation. Notwithstanding the reference to a parenthetical phrase, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
