Shade trees planted at Susan parsonage for Arbor Day

Last week the people around here had an Arbor Day, and met at the parsonage lot at Susan and put out some dozen or fifteen shade trees so that in a few years the preschoolers’ children and their friends will have a fine shade in which they to play croquet and other games, while the older ones can sit on the porch and sing, “Make me a child again.”

A very delightful “sugar stew” at Achilles High School on March 13 was interrupted by an exciting automobile race, when three young ladies who were ‘pulling it’ were chased around the school building by a huge Oakland! The occupants of the car were minus ‘stewed sugar’ that day. On account of severe headache Mr. Kenney (unfortunately) did not enjoy the ‘chase’ and has prohibited further sugar stews. Boo hoo!
