Several positions still open in Gloucester schools

Although 39 new teachers and 14 new support personnel have already joined the staff of Gloucester County Public Schools, the division has some positions to fill as it gets ready for the Sept. 8 opening day.

GCPS human resources spokesman Libby Hugate said the division is still looking to hire a math teacher, a technology teacher, and a school counselor for Page Middle School and two math teachers for Gloucester High School. A speech pathologist is also being sought for the division.

GCPS also has three openings yet to be filled in its central office. Those positions are for a human resources director, a budget and finance director, and a special education coordinator.  In its most recent round of hiring, the Gloucester County School Board appointed Carol Cutting of Williamsburg and Gail Hibbard of Fort Eustis as special education teachers at Abingdon Elementary.
