Even before Gov. Ralph Northam was sworn into office, he made a number of key appointments for senior leadership positions in his administration—including several people with local ties.
Dr. Barbara Allison-Bryan was appointed to serve as Deputy Director of the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
That agency’s mission is to “ensure safe and competent patient care by licensing health professionals, enforcing standards of practice, and providing information to health care practitioners and the public,” according to its website.
Bryan and her husband, Dr. Hugh M. Bryan III, live at North and practice in Gloucester with Riverside Health System.
Rob Farrell joined Northam’s administration as State Forester. He has served as Deputy State Forester since 2012.
