Abingdon Episcopal
Abingdon Episcopal Church, White Marsh, will host the Arts at Abingdon Concert at 5 p.m. Saturday. New York Polyphony will perform. Concerts are free, though a free-will offering will be taken.
The church will hold its annual meeting at 9:15 a.m. Sunday. There will be a potluck breakfast, election of vestry members, and State of the Parish Address.
Rhythms of Grace will perform at 1 p.m. Sunday. This will be a relaxed, comfortable worship service for families with special needs. All abilities are welcome, a release said.

Worship Center
The sermon title of Pastor Wil Early and Dr. Gloria Savage-Early of Abundant Harvest Worship Center, Gloucester Point, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday will be “Hope.”
Angel Visit Baptist
Angel Visit Baptist Church of Dunnsville, will host the thirty-first annual Essex County community celebration of the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 7 p.m. Monday.
The Rev. Dr. Leo Whitaker, executive minister of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia, will be the preacher. The Southside Rappahannock Baptist Association Choir will sing, under the direction of Marcellus Dungee.
Apostles Lutheran
Apostles Lutheran Church, Gloucester, will observe World Hunger Sunday at 9:30 a.m. during the second Sunday after Epiphany worship service. A time of fellowship will follow the service.
Bellamy United Methodist
Bellamy United Methodist Church, Gloucester, will consider “Our Calling as Disciples” during the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services. Fellowship Time will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. A “Prayer and Sacrament” service will be held at 4 p.m. in the Old Church.
Bethany United Methodist
The sermon title of Pastor Mike Derflinger of Bethany United Methodist Church, Gloucester Point, at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services will be “State of the Church and 20/20 Vision.” Acolyte training will be held in the sanctuary after the 11 o’clock service. A cake reception celebrating the 100th birthday of Pauline Harris will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
Bethel Baptist
The sermon title of the Rev. James Harris of Bethel Baptist Church, Gloucester, at the 11 a.m. Sunday service will be
“I Am Redeemed.” It will be Benevolence Sunday and the New Life Gospel Choir will sing.
Bethel United Methodist
Bethel United Methodist Church, Onemo, will hold a men’s prayer breakfast at 7:45 a.m. Sunday. Men’s, women’s and children’s socks are being collected for the Mathews Social Services.
Central United Methodist
Musicians from the church and the community including Ebenezer Baptist Church Choir will share music in the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church, Mathews, at 5 p.m. Sunday. A soup and salad supper will follow in the fellowship hall. This is a free event, and any free-will offerings will go to United Methodist Family Services.
Church of Abraham
Pastor Moses Pollard of Unity Tabernacle AFCOG in Elberon, will be the guest preacher at the 8 a.m. Youth Sunday service in Church of Abraham, Ordinary. This will be the beginning of a series for the youth on “Life Lessons.” Mr. Pollard’s subject will be “Respect.” The praise team, Seed of Faith, will lead the praise and worship service.
The Outreach Ministry will be at Daffodil Gardens, Gloucester, at 3 p.m. Sunday for a service for the residents.
Church of the Living Word
The sermon title of Dr. Gregory Woodard of Church of the Living Word, Hayes, at the 10 a.m. Sunday service will be “2020—Trusting Jesus for Provisions for Life.”
“Stewardship” will be the topic for the 7 p.m. Wednesday Bible study.
Cornerstone Fellowship
Pastor Chris Morgan of Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Cobbs Creek, will speak on “Seven Kinds of Knowledge” at 10 a.m. Sunday.
On Wednesday, Pastor Debbie Morgan will teach “Know Your Adversary” at 10 a.m., and Mr. Morgan will teach “Fear of the Lord: Understanding Four Important Whys” at 7 p.m.

The bottles will be used to fill with change, cash or checks as an offering to be donated to the Care Net Peninsula. The Care Net supports women facing unplanned pregnancies, and offers pregnancy testing, counseling, parenting education, adoption and medical referrals, material support for mom and baby, and limited obstetrical ultrasounds.
Members will sing with Gloucester House residents at 2 p.m. Sunday.
