Services and other activities in churches this week include the following:
Antioch Baptist
The Rev. Sean Cummings of Friendship Baptist Church, Newport News, will preach at the 11 a.m. Sunday service in Antioch Baptist Church, Susan. The service will be livestreamed on Facebook at weareantioch1869.

Apostles Lutheran
The congregation of Apostles Lutheran Church, Gloucester, will hold the second Sunday after Pentecost worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. A coffee fellowship will be held after the service. Links to the service via Zoom or YouTube are on apostles-elca.org.
Bellamy United Methodist
The Youth Group of Bellamy United Methodist Church, Gloucester, will have a Nintendo Switch Night at 6 o’clock Friday in the fellowship hall. Water and soda will be provided; all ages are welcome, a release said.
The church will observe the second Sunday of Pentecost at the 9 a.m. and the 10:30 a.m. services. The Faith Builders Bible Study will meet at 9:20 and the adult Sunday school class meets at 9:30. The Well Worship will be held at 11:30 in the new worship area. The Youth Group meets at 5 p.m. with dinner provided.
Bethany United Methodist
The sermon title of Pastor Paul Song of Bethany United Methodist Church, Gloucester Point, at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services will be “Claim the Joy of the Lord.” Nursery for infants to 3-year-olds begins at 9:40.
Bethel Baptist

The Wednesday prayer session begins at 6:30 p.m. preceding virtual Bible study.
The Rev. Mr. Harris and Friends will visit Riverside Convalescent Center in Saluda, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 6. They will sing and he will share a message with the residents.
Bethel Church of Mathews
The Rev. Garry Livermon, pastor of Bethel Church of Mathews, Onemo, will preach on “Jesus the Preeminent One, Part 4” at 9:50 a.m. Students who will graduate from high school—Laura Rowe, Helen Nitzsche and Christopher Scott and college graduate Beverly Foster—will be recognized. A brunch will follow the service at 11 o’clock for the graduates. Everyone is encouraged to bring an item to share. There will be no Sunday school.
The Women’s Ministry and Missions will sponsor the Mother-Daughter-Friend Banquet at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Baby Kathryn and Crew will provide the music; all ladies are invited, a release said. Bring a salad of your choice.
An inside yard sale will be held on June 15. Bring donations Thursday or Friday of that week.
The church continues to collect non-perishable items for Hands Across Mathews.
Beulah Church of New Point
The Rev. Everett Hughes of Mathews, will preach at the 11 a.m. Sunday service in Beulah Church of New Point.
Church of the Living Word
The sermon title of Dr. Gregory Woodard of Church of the Living Word, Hayes, at 10 a.m. Sunday will be “Living for Jesus.”

First Baptist, Ordinary
The sermon title of Pastor Ward Warren of First Baptist Church, Ordinary, at the 10 a.m. Sunday service will be “Prayer Can be a Real Eye-Opener.” Church school starts at 9.
First Morning Star Baptist
The sermon title of Pastor Larry J. Arrington of First Morning Star Baptist Church, Bena. at the 11 a.m. Sunday service will be “People, Wise and Otherwise.” The Combined Choir, under the direction of Leander Myers, will sing.

Gleaning Baptist
Gleaning Baptist Church, Gloucester, will celebrate its 131st anniversary on Sunday. Pastor Eugene Comithier of Zion Hill Baptist Church with his congregation will start the celebration at the 11 a.m. service. Communion will be celebrated after the service. Lunch will be served from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Pastor Vincent Pryor and the congregation of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church will be the special guests at the 3 o’clock service.
Gloucester Point Baptist
The sermon title of Pastor Dillon Evans of Gloucester Point Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Sunday will be “The Hurt of Judgment.”

Gwynn’s Island Baptist
Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church will hold its drive-in worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday around the gazebo of Gwynn’s Island Civic League. Parking begins at 9:15. The sermon title of Dr. Ed Jordan, pastor, will be “Revealing Light.” Graduates will be honored. Special music will be provided by Autumn Jenkins.
Kingston Episcopal Parish
Kingston Episcopal Parish, Mathews, will observe two Pentecost with Holy Eucharist Rite I at 8 a.m. at Christ Church on Williams Wharf Road and Holy Eucharist Rite II at 10:30 a.m. at Kingston Chapel at the parish house on Main Street.
The Monday 1 p.m. class, studying “Ladder to the Light” will meet, but the Tuesday 7 p.m. class and Wednesday noon Eucharist/Healing service are canceled.

Singleton United Methodist
The sermon title of the Rev. Calvin Griffin of Singleton United Methodist Church, Ware Neck, at 11 a.m. will be “Forgive.” After the service, the Singleton Sisterhood invites everyone to lunch. There will be a presentation by Lieutenant Jay Klink of the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department. He will tell us how to handle an active shooter situation.
