Apostles Lutheran
While physical worship services at Apostles Lutheran Church, Gloucester, are suspended, the Transfiguration Sunday service will be held via Zoom at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. An invitation to join the Zoom worship service will be sent to the congregation via email and it can also be accessed on the church’s website at apostles-elca.org. Children’s chapel will be held via Zoom at 3 p.m.; individuals can email office.apostles@gmail.com for an invitation.
An Ash Wednesday service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday via Zoom.
Bethany United Methodist
The Rev. Robin Moscati will be the guest preacher at the 10 a.m. Sunday Transfiguration service in Bethany United Methodist Church, Gloucester Point. Her sermon title will be “Who Am I, and Why Am I Here?” Masks are mandatory and a touchless temperature will be taken. The service can also be viewed on the YouTube Channel Bethany UMC Gloucester Point.
Bethel Baptist
Bethel Baptist Church, Gloucester, continues to hold its worship services online or conference call. The sermon title of Minister Dr. Katrina Brown at noon Sunday will be “What Are You Going to Do?” There will be a communion service at 3 p.m. The service can be accessed by logging onto https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/929136757. Bethel United Methodist
Bethel United Methodist Church, Onemo, will hold Bible study groups on “Called to Support” at 10:05 a.m. Sunday. At 10:50, the worship service will begin. All health guidelines of face covering, social distancing and health forms apply.
Ash Wednesday service will begin at 7 p.m.
Central United Methodist
The sermon title of the Rev. John Choi, pastor of Central United Methodist Church, Mathews, at 9:15 a.m. Sunday will be “When You See a Glimpse of Heaven.” Those attending are asked to wear face coverings, and social distancing is observed. The service will be streamed live on the church’s YouTube channel, which can be accessed through the church’s homepage at www.centralumcmathews.org.”
Church of the Living Word
The sermon title of Minister Gary W. Minerve Sr. of Church of the Living Word, Hayes, at 10 a.m. Sunday will be “Keep Hope Alive.”
“The Gospel of St. Mark” will be the topic for the 6 p.m. Wednesday Bible study via Zoom.
First Baptist, Ordinary
The virtual sermon title of Pastor Ward Warren of First Baptist Church, Ordinary, will be “When Trouble Erupts in Unexpected Places.” Church school begins at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Gwynn’s Island Baptist
Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church will hold a drive-in service at 10 a.m. Sunday around the gazebo across from the church. Parking will begin at 9:30. The sermon topic of Dr. Ed Jordan, pastor, will be “What’s New … Love?” Special music will be provided by Katherine Murphy and Lori Oliver.
Kingston Episcopal Parish
Kingston Episcopal Parish, Mathews, will celebrate Sunday Spiritual Communion Rite II online on its Facebook and YouTube sites available Saturday evenings. Coffee hour will be held via Zoom at 11:30 a.m. The ID and passcode can be obtained from the church office at 804-725-2175.
The Wabingston Clergy Klatch Bible Study is every Saturday morning, also on Facebook and YouTube. The Bible class “The Great Communicator: God” continues at 4 p.m. Mondays via Zoom with the readings posted the previous Wednesday on Facebook. Call the office for information.
There can be no in-person Ash Wednesday service, but any type of ashes can be imposed by individuals on themselves or by others in the household.
LightHouse
LightHouse Church, Ordinary, will hold Sunday services at 8 a.m. (at risk) and 10 a.m. (family friendly). Face masks are required for both services. LightHouse Kids Church is also held at 10 o’clock in the Kids Club building. Use the online Church Center app to check children in when the Kids Church doors open at 9:45. Newington Baptist
The sermon title of Pastor Mike Gray of Newington Baptist Church, Gloucester, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday will be “The Greatest Love.” Children ages four through the fifth grade have the option of going to KidsWorship, a special time of worship, learning, fun, and snack during part of the adult worship service. Watch and chat with others on Newington’s Facebook page as the Sunday service is streamed live at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday evenings there is something for everyone from 6:30-8. For K-5th grade, Kidz-life, a discipleship program with lessons, games, snacks, and activities; 6-12th grades are welcomed at COR3 Youth, a ministry designed for students and their families to stimulate spiritual development both within and outside the home environment. Older teens and adults come study Hebrews with Mr. Gray or join the choir to prepare a special program for Easter.
The Clothes Closet will be open from 10 a.m.-noon on Feb. 20 and 27 to give clothes to anyone in need.
Masks are required and social distancing is observed at all Newington events.

Starting Ash Wednesday, the Rev. Tang will begin the Lenten Bible study at 10:30 a.m. on Facebook. There will be two Ash Wednesday services: one at 10:30 a.m. at Olive Branch UMC and one at 6:30 p.m. at Salem. The morning service from Olive Branch will be aired at 6:30 p.m on the Facebook page.
The February Food Pantry will be open from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20.
Shepherdsville baptist
