Abingdon Episcopal
Abingdon Episcopal Church, White Marsh, will bless the carved wooden statue of St. Francis at noon Saturday.
Services for Palm/Passion Sunday will be at 8 and 10:30 a.m. with a blessing of the palms at each service. Sunday school will be at 9:30.
Holy Week services will beging at 6:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday, April 17.
Antioch Baptist
The Rev. Julia Forrest will speak at 11 a.m. Sunday in Antioch Baptist Church, Susan. The service will also be on Facebook Live at weareantioch1869.
Bellamy United Methodist
Bellamy United Methodist Church, Gloucester, will have one worship service on Palm/Passion Sunday at 10:30 a.m. The music for the Lenten season will be presented by the Adult Choir and the Bell Choir, as well as several solos, duets, and small groups. The Youth Group will meet at 5 p.m., with dinner provided.
Loaves and Britches Food and Diaper ministry will be held from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday. The XYZs (Xtra Years of Zest) will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Bethel Baptist
The Rev. Dr. Jonathan Stubbs will preach at 11 a.m. Sunday in Bethel Baptist Church, Gloucester. The service will also be held virtually by logging onto https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/929136757.
Bethel Church of Mathews
Kenneth Whitehead will speak at the 11 a.m. Sunday service in Bethel Church of Mathews, Onemo. Sunday school will precede the service at 10.
Beulah Church of New Point
Pastor Dede Parrish of Beulah Church of New Point will preach at 11 a.m. Sunday. Lunch will follow at noon.
Friday fun night for children will be held from 6:30-8 o’clock. An Easter Egg Hunt will be included.
Bible study will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Central United Methodist
The sermon title of the Rev. Rebecca Rumburg, pastor of Central United Methodist Church, Mathews, at 9:15 a.m. Palm Sunday will be “From Hosanna to Crucify Him!” A coffee social will follow the service, sponsored by the Paul Townsend Memorial Sunday school class. Sunday school will follow.
Church of the Living Word
The sermon title of Dr. Gregory Woodard of Church of the Living Word, Hayes, at 10 a.m. Sunday will be “It is All About Jesus.” I Timothy will be the Wednesday Bible study topic at 6:30 p.m.
First Baptist, Ordinary
The Rev. Jerry Bristol will be the guest speaker at the 10 a.m. Sunday communion service in First Baptist Church, Ordinary. Church school begins at 9.
There will be an Executive and quarterly board meeting at 1 p.m. today, April 10. Wednesday Bible study will begin at 1 p.m.
First Morning Star Baptist
The sermon title of Pastor Larry J. Arrington of First Morning Star Baptist Church, Bena, at the 11 a.m. Sunday service will be “The Essence of Humility.”
Gloucester Point Baptist
The sermon title of Pastor Dillon Evans of Gloucester Point Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Sunday will be “Why Do We Call It Good?” The Easter cantata, “You’ve Already Won,” will also be presented.
Gwynn’s Island Baptist
The sermon title of Pastor Ed Jordan of Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary will be “Where’s the Fruit?” Special music will be by Tyrone Hudgins and Island Praise. Bible study class for all ages will be at 8:30.
Ladies’ Bible Study meets at 10 a.m. Thursdays; Men’s Bible Study meets at 9 a.m. Tuesdays at the church.
Kingston Episcopal
Kingston Episcopal Parish, Mathews, will observe Palm Sunday with Holy Eucharist Rite I at 8 a.m. at Christ Church on Williams Wharf Road and Holy Eucharist Rite II at 10:30 a.m. at Kingston Chapel on Main Street.
Holy Week services will be held at noon Monday-Friday, April 18 at Westville Christian Church.
The vestry will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the library.
Locust Grove Global Methodist
Locust Grove Global Methodist Church, Dutton, will hold an Easter Party after the 11 a.m. worship on Sunday. The event will include lunch, games and an Eggciting Easter Egg Hunt. It will also be “Bring a Friend Sunday.”
