Bellamy United Methodist

Bellamy United Methodist Church, Gloucester, will gather for worship at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The Faith Builders Bible Study will meet at 9:15 and adult Sunday School class at 9:30. Children’s Church will be available at 10:30.

Bethany United Methodist

The sermon title of Doe Breen at the 8:30 a.m. (informal worship) and 11 o’clock (traditional worship) in Bethany United Methodist Church, Gloucester Point, will be “He Knows Your Name!” Sunday school for all ages begins at 9:45 and nursery for infants to 3-year-olds is available beginning at 9:40. The second Sunday breakfast will be served at 9:30.

Bethel Baptist

The sermon title of the Rev. The Church Anniversary Committee will have a “Fish Fry and Fried Chicken Dinner” fundraiser on Saturday at the Masonic Hall located on Route 17 north of Riverside Walter Reed Hospital from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Dinners will be $17 and will include your choice of fried fish or fried chicken, choice of two sides, a roll, dessert and a beverage.

Bible study will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. which will be held virtually.

Bethel Church of Mathews

Landa Simmons will be the speaker at the 11 a.m. Sunday service in Bethel Church of Mathews, in Onemo.
Non-perishable items and canned goods are being collected for Hands Across Mathews.

Beulah Church of New Point

The sermon title of Pastor Dede Parrish of Beulah Church of New Point, at 11 a.m. Sunday will be “When Hope Runs Out.”

First Baptist, Mathews

First Baptist Church, Mathews, will celebrate its 160th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18. Bishop Joshua N. King Sr., pastor of Zion Baptist Church, Hampton, will be the guest speaker.

First Baptist, Ordinary

The sermon title of Pastor Ward Warren of First Baptist Church, Ordinary, at the 10 a.m. Sunday service will be “The Gift That Counts.” Church school starts at 9 o’clock.

An Executive Board Meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday and Wednesday Bible study will be at 1 p.m.

Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church has restarted its outdoor drive-in worship on the grounds of the Gwynn’s Island Civic League property, across from the church, at 10 a.m. Sunday. The sermon title of Pastor Ed Jordan will be “God can even use Bad Things to Accomplish His Good.” Special music will be by Ada Barnes and Lori Oliver.

Ladies’ Bible Study meets at 10 a.m. Thursdays and Men’s Bible Study meets at 9 a.m. Tuesdays. Island Praise rehearsal is at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Kingston Episcopal

Shepherdsville Baptist Church, Gloucester, welcomes one and all to join in its Mother’s Day program, “In Memory of and in Honor of Our Mothers,” at 11 a.m. Sunday. Minister Hazel Perry of Shiloh Baptist Church of Yorktown, will be the guest speaker. Special tributes, music and a message of unconditional love, will be shared.

Singleton United Methodist

The sermon title of the Rev. Calvin Griffin of Singleton United Methodist Church, Ware Neck, at 11 a.m. Sunday will be “Celebrating Forever.” The men will honor all the ladies at 10:30 at the second Sunday Fellowship Coffee prior to the service. The last snack packing for this school year will be after the service for Peasley Middle School. The congregation is welcome to help do the packing, a release said.

Monday morning Bible study at 9:30 will begin a new study on the book, “Daniel Prayer.” Wednesday night Bible study at 7 o’clock will discuss the book “Christian Manifesto.”
