Services and other activities announced by local churches

Services and other activities in churches this week include the following:

Apostles Lutheran

Apostles Lutheran Church, Gloucester, will hold the “Baptism of Jesus” worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Jay Serafin will lead the service. Links to the service via Zoom or YouTube are on the church’s website at apostles-elca.org. The bulletin will be sent to the congregation via email. There will be a potluck lunch after the service.

Serafin has been appointed to serve as interim pastor of Apostles. He came to the Virginia Synod from the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod where he served over the past 33 years in two parish settings. Most recently, Serafin served the Brandonville-Ringtown parish for over 27 years. He will be presiding at worship services and will generally be in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
