Sept. 19 walk to promote awareness of OCD

Each year, the International OCD Foundation holds its “1 Million Steps 4 OCD” walks in various cities around the nation, with the closest walk this year on Sunday, Sept. 19 in Richmond, according to Dr. Bob Falk of Gloucester, a clinical psychologist who serves as a board member of the OCD Mid-Atlantic regional affiliate of the IOCDF.

Hosted by Richmond’s OCD Connect RVA, and the Mid-Atlantic regional affiliate, money raised support the missions of these organizations: educating the public and providers about OCD, improved access to resources for OCD sufferers and their families, and advocacy and lobbying for the OCD community in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The walk will be held at Deep Run Park, 9900 Ridgefield Parkway, from 10 a.m. to noon. Check-in begins at 9. Registration and participation are free.
