Sculpture and Garden exhibit on display at Bay School

The exhibit Sculpture and Garden Art is on display the Bay School Community Arts Center and Art Speaks Gallery in Mathews. It will run through April 21.

The show features sculptures by several artists that can go in or outdoors as well as a variety of garden-inspired art, said a press release. It includes pottery bird feeders, glass art, vases, garden wall art, potters, fiber art, and photography. Participating artists are both local and regional.

The exhibition will be rearranged to offer different views through the front windows, so anyone who is out and about is invited to stop by and take a peek. New artwork will be added regularly, so people are encouraged to keep checking in.

During nice weather, sculptures will be displayed outside for viewing.

All artwork can be seen and purchased at www.bayschool-arts.com.

Children’s art projects

During this challenging time the Bay School has been providing creative projects for children in the community to take home, said the release. Bay School Art-to Go Kits have been available to children age 3 and up. Now, new kits have been developed to coincide with the Sculpture and Garden Art theme.

Returned Art-to-Go artwork will be displayed along with the other entries in the Sculpture and Garden Art show as well as in Bay School window displays. Youth in the outreach programs may view the show online to vote on a “Kids’ Choice” award for their favorite piece from the show. Updates will be available on the school’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

The featured Artist of the Month in April is Mathews artist Joan Podd. Her collage artwork will be on exhibit through the month of April. Podd creates amazing collages featuring flowers and nature, said the release.
