A special screening of the short film “Sport Star” will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Fine Arts Museum of Gloucester, 6894 Main Street, Gloucester. Written and directed by Gloucester native Ellis Finney and produced by Jeff Lichtenstein, “Sport Star” tells the true story of a young athlete whose perseverance and passion challenge expectations and inspire those around him. It “highlights the power of sports to build confidence, create opportunities, and bring communities together,” a press release said. Following Friday’s screening, those attending will have an opportunity to learn more about the film and the story behind its creation. Admission is free, but reservations are requested.
