Scottish music takes center stage at Rappahannock Foundation for Arts concert

Kilmarnock, the Northern Neck town, can trace its association with the Scottish community of the same name to the mid-1700s.

On Saturday, March 12, the Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts will celebrate this connection with a performance by the Jamie Laval Trio at 7:30 p.m. at Lancaster Middle School.

Laval, the 2002 U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion, will showcase his instrumental virtuosity. In the concert, he will be joined by soprano Amber Rose and harpist Rachel Clemente.

“Together they will present a musical journey through the Scottish highlands, Ireland and Brittany. RFA patrons should be prepared to be immersed in heartfelt love ballads to toe-tapping melodies in the Celtic musical tradition,” said RFA board president Jamie Tucker.
