Scott Thomas Holmberg, much loved son of Craig and Laura Holmberg, died at 17 years of age in his home in Mathews on April 25, 2012.

He is survived by his sister, Catherine Holmberg, and brother, Jonathan Holmberg; grandparents, Thomas and Jonnie Adams, Neil and Beverly Holmberg, and Judy Darlington, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Scott was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Diggs, Va., and a junior at Mathews High School. He proudly wore #85 as a starter on the varsity football team. Scott enjoyed working part-time at Moughons Hardware in Mathews.

Scott’s jovial nature brought 17 years of laughter and joy to his family, friends, church family and others in Mathews County.

The family received friends at Salem United Methodist Church from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012. Memorial services were conducted in Salem United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2 p.m.

His family requests that memorial donations be made to Salem United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 474, Mathews, Va. 23109 or Mathews High School Football Team, P.O. Box 38, Mathews, Va. 23109.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Mathews, was in charge of the arrangements.
