Scott Huntington Emory, 48, of Mechanicsville, died unexpectedly on March 24, 2016 at Memorial Regional Medical Center, in Mechanicsville, Va.

Scott was a 1985 graduate of Contoocook Valley Regional High School in Peterborough, N.H., and attended Roberts Wesleyan College in New York. He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution and DeMolay International, an organization dedicated to making young men better people and leaders.

Scott was a collector of stamps, fine cigars, and good coffee from around the world.  He enjoyed spending his free time fly-fishing, working on his prized Challenger, and watching Patriots football with his son, Christian.  

Born and raised in Peterborough, Scott later settled in North Carolina to work and raise his family. He had recently been promoted to Territory Manager for Wolseley Industrial Group, a division of Ferguson Enterprises, Inc., for a position which brought Scott and his family to Virginia. Scott’s work ethic is a legacy he leaves behind to all who knew him along with his witty sense of humor. Everyone whose life he touched will miss Scott’s presence and his peace.

Preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents, Harry Scott Leigh and Eleanor Witt Leigh; paternal grandparents, Lloyd North Emory and Adelaide Kelley Emory.

Scott is survived by his wife of 26 years, Frances Williams Emory; daughter, Sarah Huntington Emory; sons, Christian Scott Emory and Andrew North Emory; parents, Lloyd H. and Jane L. Emory; sisters, Wendy Emory and Jennifer E. Ramstrom; mother-in-law, Frances Williams; brother-in-law, Roddy Williams, and many relatives and treasured friends.

A service of remembrance conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Waclo will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Bellamy United Methodist Church, 4870 Chestnut Fork Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061. Inurnment will be private.
