School’s musical tradition to be celebrated during Founder’s Day

“A Celebration in Music” is the theme of this year’s Thomas Hunter Middle School Founder’s Day program, which will be held on Monday night in the school’s J. Murray Brooks Auditorium.

The evening will start with a community dinner at 5:30. For $6, those attending will be able to enjoy lasagna or pizza, salad, bread and dessert. Those in attendance are also encouraged to check out the THMS Book Fair, which begins that day in the school library, as well as displays that will be set up in the auditorium.

The program itself begins at 7 o’clock. THMS assistant principal Amy Hauser, who initiated the Founder’s Day celebration in 2014 to shine a spotlight on the school’s rich and diverse history, said that the school’s current students asked for two things from this year’s celebration.
